Your Wedding Details.

Welcome!

Hi there and thank you so much again for booking me to film your wedding day!

This is your private page, where you’ll find a short form to fill in with the key details I’ll need to prep for your big day, along with my pre-wedding terms and conditions below. These are here to make sure we’re on the same page and to give you a sense of what to expect, both on the day and afterwards.

A Few Quick Things to Know:

  • My Approach:
I take a documentary approach to filming which means staying in the background and capturing the day naturally as it unfolds. The only time I’ll ever give direction is during your couple portraits, and even then, it’ll just be a few gentle prompts or close-ups. I’ll usually be quietly shooting around your photographer.

  • Lapel Microphone:
One of you (typically a groom) will be asked to wear a small lapel mic during the ceremony, this is just to capture clear audio of your vows for your film. It doesn’t amplify your voice in any way, and it’s clipped on quickly and discreetly, just before the ceremony begins.

  • Music Licensing:
All the music used in your film is professionally licensed and chosen to suit the tone and emotion of your day. Unfortunately, I can’t use popular chart songs due to copyright restrictions.

  • Arrival Time:
I’ll arrive approximately 90 minutes before the person I’m filming first (usually the bride) is due to leave for the ceremony. That gives me time to set the scene, capture prep footage and get those final make-up touch-ups and dress going on etc.

  • Delivery Time:
Your film will be delivered within a maximum of 28 weeks after your wedding day. This timeline has been the same and has worked well for over a decade. I don’t outsource my edits and I take great care in crafting something truly personal. Video editing is a longer, more detailed process than photography and I promise it’ll be worth the wait.

Terms & Conditions

Booking & Payment

  • Your remaining balance is due approx 4 weeks before the wedding.

  • Payments can be made via bank transfer. I’ll send payment details and reminders when the time comes.

Cancellation or Postponement

  • If you cancel your booking, the booking fee is non-refundable.

  • If you postpone your wedding, I’ll do everything I can to move with you. If I’m already booked on the new date, it will be treated as a cancellation.

  • If I’m unable to film your wedding due to serious illness or emergency, I’ll do my best to arrange a trusted replacement or offer a refund of any money paid.

Coverage on the Day

  • I’ll work from your timeline and details, but I can’t guarantee footage of every moment.

  • If there’s anything important you want captured, like a surprise performance or a visiting relative, just let me know ahead of time.

  • I’m one person and I film at one prep in the morning time, typically the bridal prep, unless you are both getting ready at the same venue or there is a very short distance between you both e.g 15 minute drive.

  • Sometimes things like restricted access, sudden weather changes or a tightly packed schedule can limit what’s possible. I’ll always do my best to adapt and capture the day as naturally as I can.

Filming Style & Creative Control

  • I film in a natural, documentary style. I don’t stage or direct much, apart from a few gentle prompts during couple portraits.

  • The final edit is created using my judgement and style, which is what you’ve booked me for. You’ll have seen the examples online and the examples of my longer film on your initial booking form. I’ll choose the best footage, flow and music to tell the story of your day.

  • One round of small revision requests is included (but very rarely needed after a decade on the job) such as removing a clip or adjusting a moment. More substantial changes will involve an extra editing fee.

  • Raw or unedited footage is not offered or available.

Drone Footage

  • Drone footage is included where it’s safe and legal to fly. This depends on weather, location permissions and time/schedule on the day.

  • I always aim to include it where I can, but it’s not guaranteed.

Music Licensing

  • I use properly licensed music in all of my edits. Unfortunately, I’m not able to use chart songs or well-known tracks due to copyright restrictions.

  • I’ll choose music that fits the tone and emotion of your day.

Delivery Timeline

  • Your full wedding film will be delivered within 28 weeks of your wedding. It’s a careful, detailed process and I don’t outsource any part of it. This has been my delivery timescale over the past decade and has worked well.

  • Your film will be delivered online via a private, high-quality link. You’ll be able to stream, download and share it from there.

  • I recommend downloading your film and backing it up in more than one place, like a hard drive or cloud storage. Websites don’t last forever - so this is very important.

Client Responsibility

  • It’s your responsibility to check with your venue(s) that videography is allowed. Some churches and celebrants have rules around camera placement or audio.

  • Please keep me in the loop about timings, restrictions or anything unusual happening on the day so I can plan around it.

  • If you're planning a surprise or something unconventional that you want captured, a quiet heads-up beforehand helps a lot.

Meals & Breaks

  • For weddings where I’m filming over 6 hours, a hot meal would be hugely appreciated. It helps me stay on-site and focused without missing anything like post-dinner speeches. Your venue/caterer will be in the know when it comes to vendor food. If your not providing food on the day, I do require notice of this in advance.

Liability & Insurance

  • While every care is taken, I am not liable for unforeseen circumstances including equipment failure, extreme weather or acts of God. In such cases, liability is limited to the amount paid.

  • I carry full public liability insurance and equipment insurance.

Backups & Storage

  • I keep your edited film backed up for 12 months after delivery.

  • Once it’s delivered, it’s up to you to download and store a copy somewhere safe. Tech can fail, so it’s always worth keeping it in more than one place.
